More than a poetry book, Love and Gaslight is a story. Divided into five chapters, it sparks with one woman’s decision to leave an unhappy relationship. Her choice begins a painful unraveling. Poem by poem, she searches for lost innocence and unpalatable truth.
She is a sexual assault survivor reclaiming her body. She is an immigrant climbing into the home-sized hole in her heart. She is an adult comforting her inner child. She is a woman questioning the social conditioning that governs her freedom.
Love and Gaslight is raw, political, and transgressive. It’s edgy, feminist, and relevant. Most importantly, it’s honest. You will feel it. Whether it makes you feel sad, glad, or attacked, it will also make you feel brave enough to speak your truth.

Author Bio:
Vironika Wilde is a Ukrainian and Russian-indigenous poet, spoken word artist, activist, and workshop facilitator. Readers often call her raw, honest, and willing to spill tough truths about trauma, society, and the human condition. As a stage poet, she’s performed in many cities, including Toronto, Vancouver, Honolulu, Portland, Sydney, and Melbourne. She has twice been part of the Toronto International Storytelling Festival. As a page poet, she published her debut poetry collection, Love & Gaslight, in 2020 and thereafter won third place in Room Magazine’s poetry contest, was shortlisted for the Dillydoun Flash Fiction Prize, and received the Ontario Arts Council Literary Grant for her upcoming poetry collection, Step-Mother Tongue. As an educator, she has a passion for teaching people to heal themselves through self-expression. As a live typewriter artist, she unites her love of poetry and psychology to create customized bespoke poems that help people know themselves, connect to one another, and commemorate special events. Vironika’s words have appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, Forbes, Bustle, Psych Central, Insight Timer app, Poetry Pause, Book Riot, and poets.ca. When Vironika isn’t writing, she loves getting lost, looking at the stars, singing to her kids, and eating pickles (sometimes, all at once).
